About me:Corporate Lifestyle Restortative Movement Consultant, Certified
Master Fitness Trainer, Cancer Fitness Specialist, Advanced Pilates Instructor, Motivational Speaker "Empowerment through
Movement" Seminars.
My goal- To inform people who are newly diagnosed with cancer, cancer survivors, and
individuals with chronic illness how to rebuild the body through mind, gentle body and spirit exercises to expedite the healing
journey to recovery..
I teach “Empowerment through Movement" Seminars to groups with chronic illness,
individuals diagnosed with cancer as well as post operative survivors. The "fun" motivational restotative movement
sessions offer Inspiration, Insight and Implementation on “Taking Back Your Physical Power…One Muscle At A Time.
We laugh, cry and feel marvelous at the end of each event! Afterall, If you are breathing… there is a physical movement
that can be adapted to get you back on the wells course.
When I'm not teaching motivational seminars, I’m
promoting health and wellness community awareness-, or working on new projects and programs to help to enhance the Mind,
Body and Spirit to individuals throughout the region and beyond.
I know that fatique and muscle
weakness are large factors for those of you, who have had surgery, chemo or radiation treatments, or other health problems.
The goal is too take one day at a time. After receiving medical clearance to exercise, you will want to pace yourself- do
not overdo it. Start slowly. Some days you may only want to do a bit of deep breathing or you may feel like walking five steps
today, six the next day and so on. The worst thing you can do for yourself is too do nothing at all. Be strong and believe
in yourself.
What is a Restortative Fitness Program?
My pre/post operative cancerand
restortative movement programs begins with a system of building blocks conveying the fundamentals and principles of
restorative core strength training. Cancer Survivors & those with chronic illnesses ,learn body awareness moves
through a gentle restorative and relaxation exercise regiment, that will help them progressively rebuild their bodies as they
continue on the recovery journey. I decided to start this form of movement program, because I have heard
too many fitness horror stories from post rehab and cancer survivors, trying to do to much too soon. All too often, Cancer
Survivors and ohers who are trying to regain strength; face set-backs in the healing process due to under exertion (doing
nothing at all after being diagnosed) or over fitness exertion. (too much too soon, wrong exercises etc.)Remember you are
not alone

The StarrPower Restortative Strength Training DVD will
give the Cancer Survivor an opportunity to view and practice some or all the Pilates movements in a home setting, offer the
user an opportunity to learn or review the principles and movements at their own pace. The DVD would also help inform and
educate caregivers, spouses and friends of the Cancer Survivor, about the concept of mind and body integrative recovery moves
to help strengthen the body. Note- The purpose of the strength training is not replace an exercise class, but
enhance, increase and offer the opportunity to increase frequency of the Pilates moves, as the person develops, increases
muscle strength, better coordination and balance.
People I’d love to meet… People
who have a zest for life, who are compassion and genuine, who think of others before themselves, people who know who they
are- needing no validation for their positive actions, people who treat their body as a temple, seek balance and love and
people who have dreams and aspirations to make an impact for their fellow sisters and brothers. (Note) Its ok to have a momentary
pity party- Sometimes we need to get to a low point in life to purge off the unwanted emotional baggage. Just get it out
and over as soon as possible- tomorrow always offer new beginnings. Continue to thrive as you live!
